Acupuncture for Pain
One of the ailments acupuncture is best known for treating is pain. Whether it is an acute injury such as a sprain or strain, a sports injury, concussion, motor vehicle accident, or sudden unknown onset of pain; or whether it is a case of chronic overuse, long term stress, undetermined chronic pain, or neurological disorders, acupuncture, especially electrical acupuncture is excellent for providing relief. Acupuncture can also help reduce scar tissue to increase flow and flexibility of the tissues. Often results can be noticed within one session.
With these treatments acupuncture needles are put in strategic places along the nervous system, muscular system, fascial system, and directly at the area of discomfort. Adding a very light electrical current to the acupuncture needles confuses the nervous system into re-calibrating and wears out tension in muscles, fascia, and tissues to increase range of motion, flexibility, and comfort, while decreasing pain. In my clinic I often combine this type of acupuncture with massage, which helps me locate exactly where the pain is coming from for better and quicker results
Treating pain conditions is a deep passion of mine. I love the immediate results, feeling the body system relax under my treatment, and seeing the reactions of my clients when they feel their pain diminishing and more ease in their movements.
